Are you embarrassed by your broken, damaged, or thickened toenails? Have your nails been damaged by a fungus infection or injury? Dr. Antonetz can repair and restore your toenail to a more normal and natural appearance. Dr. Antonetz is trained and certified in this new Keryflex™ Nail Restoration System. Dr. Antonetz is one of three doctors in the tri-state area certified to use this system.
The KeryFlex™ Nail Restoration System is a new method to repair toenails damaged by fungus and injuries. The Keryflex™ System will restore your damaged toenails to their original appearance. KeryFlex™ utilizes polymer resins that bond to your damaged toenails to create a sturdy, natural-looking artificial nail. It is a painless procedure.
The KeryFlex™ procedure usually takes about 15 minutes to perform, and is performed in Dr. Antonetz's office. First, most of the damaged nail is removed, and a bonding agent is applied. Then, the KeryFlex™ resin, which has a gel-like consistency, is applied to the nail bed. The KeryFlex™ resin is hardened using a special ultraviolet light for two minutes. This procedure is repeated to ensure that the nail is restored to its natural appearance. After the procedure, patients can immediately return to day-to-day activities, get a pedicure, or apply nail polish and rock those high heels.

A medical pedicure promotes overall foot and nail health and wellness. This procedure is often recommended for patients with corns, calluses or other minor foot conditions who may require more intensive treatment than a traditional pedicure.
As the term implies, a medical pedicure should be performed by a doctor of podiatric medicine. At American Foot Care, Dr. Antonetz performs a true medical pedicure. This pedicure begins with an examination of your feet to ensure their good health. If any foot problems are found, they will be discussed for future treatment. Next, your feet are placed in a medicinal whirl pool to gently exfoliate dry skin, and to soften and soothe painful corns and calluses. Dr. Antonetz will remove all hard skin, calluses and corns using disposable sterile scalpel blades. Your toenails will be properly cut, and all nail debris will be removed. Your skin will then be nourished, softened, and moisturized using botanical treatments.
It is important for patients to note that while a medical pedicure is effective in improving the overall condition of the feet and even treating certain minor conditions, it is not an adequate substitute for professional podiatric care and cannot effectively replace medical treatment. Instead, patients can receive medical pedicures as an ongoing maintenance treatment to prevent corns, calluses and other problems from developing and keep the feet looking their best.
At American Foot Care, you can relax and be assured your medical pedicure was performed under aseptic conditions using steam autoclaved instruments and disposable sterile scalpel blades.
